In 2013, I started writing and self-publishing my children’s books about the animals of the Chesapeake Bay. This year was very exciting for me as I hired narrator, Cindy Price, to record my books. I hired her in November 2023 and she finished eight of my books in July 2024. It was an amazing experience working with her and she did an awesome job. After Cindy narrated my books, I donated them to the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled. Chester the Chipmunk was narrated by a library volunteer. Owen the Oriole was narrated by Christopher M. Allport. They are now available for blind patrons to enjoy!

I started writing and self-publishing children’s books in 2013. I have done everything myself including formatting and selling. However, I recently hired a Marketing Manager, Elaine Kibler, and she has done wonders for me and my business. My books are selling more and more each year. I did 19 events in 2022, grossed $7,370 and sold 452 books. I keep a Word document on the events, dates, books sold, and gross income, so I know which events are best to attend again. My best selling places are Rock Hall, St. Michael’s, Kurtz’s Beach, and Annemarie Sculpture Garden in Maryland. My children’s books are about the animals of the Chesapeake Bay.
